1-on-1 Coaching
Unified Mindfulness is an excellent vehicle for personalized instruction. Rather than a set curriculum, UM offers lays out a menu of options. As you explore a range of different techniques, you learn to identify and focus on those that speak most strongly to you, making practice fun and easier to incorporate into your daily life. As a Lead Coach of Unified Mindfulness, Josh will work closely with you clarify and reach your personal goals for mindfulness practice.
Josh also brings to UM coaching the classic insights of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and years of experience with a variety of contemplative practices, from hatha yoga to Gregorian chant, Nichiren daimoku, and a lifetime of communing with nature. At the same time, Josh also knows what it means to be a mindfulness practitioner in the working world, having excelled in a demanding career as an economist and financial media commentator for 15 years.
UM incorporates a scientific mindset through a comprehensive and systematic framework for understanding contemplative traditions across cultures and human history.
With a library of practices designed to home in one category of sensory event at a time, (seeing, hearing, and feeling, etc.), UM has great power and flexibility to sharpen (and transform or deepen) the experience of both sitting meditation and daily life. It is more overtly oriented toward transformation through insight, and ultimately it can be healing.
